'Moonlight,' Barry Jenkins' film chronicles the life of a young black man from childhood to adulthood as he struggles to find his place in the world while growing up in a rough neighborhood of Miami. 'La La Land,' a musical directed by Damien Chazelle; and 'Arrival,' Denis Villeneuve's sci-fi film, are nominated for a combined 30 Oscars, "Best Picture" among them.
