#BlackLivesMatter…it became more than a battle cry, it became a movement. Fueled by several millennial activists after the controversial death of teenager Trayvon Martin, this movement has transformed itself from being a hashtag to an unstoppable force: from Minneapolis, to Staten Island, to Baton Rouge and across the nation. For the Webby's 2016 Social Movement of the Year award, Black Lives Matter was the obvious choice.
